Davao Movies: Star Trek Is Back!

After the newest Star Wars movie hit the city several months ago here comes another space movie legend, the Star Trek. Compare the eyebrows of the stars in the old Star Trek posters and the new posters. At least, the eyebrows aren't that exaggerated anymore.

Star Trek is a science fiction movie franchise and television series created by Gene Roddenberry. It has so far spawned six television series and eleven films. It has also inspired a host of video and computer games, novels and other money-making venture including a Las Vegas themed attraction.

Star Trek is showing at SM City Cinemas 1 and 6 and NCCC Cinema 3.

Movie Guide

There's nothing really exciting in the movie front this week except perhaps for the scie-fi movie Jumper which tells the story of a boy who discovers his power to teleport and how there are others like him in the same universe.

A teleporter is a technology that allows a person to disintegrate or to disassemble enabling him to travel from one space to another.

Here's the ho-hum movie schedule for this week.

Wednesday Movie Guide

Alvin and Chipmunks is finally here! We've (the other part of we being "B") been waiting for this movie since Christmas last year. I was wondering why the cinemas kept on postponing the showing of the movie during the Holiday season when it was very fitting with the times. It was even shown in Manila theaters ahead.

We have had Alvin and the Chipmunks playing in our CD for several years already it would be nice to finally meet the gang that made us laugh even just in audio.

Well, I hope Alvin and the Chipmunks is well worth the wait.
